Baptism of Infants and Young Children
Baptism is the first and most important sacrament, welcoming your child into the Catholic Church and beginning a lifelong journey of faith. Through Baptism, children become members of the Church and are able to receive the other sacraments and participate fully in the life of the parish.
Infants and young children are baptised in the faith of their parents, while children over the age of eight are usually baptised during Sunday Mass as they begin their own journey of faith.
Preparation and Requests
A baptism preparation session is required and takes place on the first Saturday of each month at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church. Please note that baptisms are not usually celebrated during Lent.
