Passionist Family Groups
The Passionist Family Groups began in 1972 and have been active in New Zealand since 1988, with groups in Hastings for over 30 years. The focus of the movement is on building relationships and fostering a strong sense of community within parish life.
Our emphasis is on “being” rather than “doing.” We encourage a spirit of belonging, where people can get to know their fellow parishioners, share faith, and enjoy Christian life together.
Family Groups provide support and encouragement to families and individuals while strengthening the life of the parish. Members enjoy one another’s company and take part in regular social gatherings and outings.
Family Groups seek to live faith in practical, everyday ways, helping people connect, grow in friendship, and feel part of the wider parish family. Our motto is: “A Family for All.”
There are currently four Passionist Family Groups within the parish.
