The Well — Catholic Women's Group

“The water I give will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” — John 4:14

The Well is a welcoming space for women in our parish to deepen their faith, build meaningful friendships, and encourage one another in spiritual growth. What began in January 2026 as simple coffee conversations has grown into a supportive community where women can pray, reflect, and share life together.

The Well was created especially for women in the busy middle seasons of life. We are a small group of women from different walks of life, balancing work, family, faith, and the many responsibilities that come with this season, while also recognising the importance of friendship, encouragement, and connection. While there are often groups for younger women, or opportunities for those able to attend daytime gatherings, there has not really been a space for women in this stage of life to connect in a meaningful way and share faith openly with one another.

We meet fortnightly on Mondays, with times and locations varying depending on the season. Alongside our regular gatherings, we also enjoy social get-togethers and coffee catch-ups, building friendships and sharing life together in ways that may feel more accessible or preferable for some women.

Between gatherings, we stay connected through our WhatsApp group, supporting and encouraging one another throughout the week.

All women are warmly welcome—if you’re interested, please get in touch.

Behind the Name

Why “The Well”?

The Well takes its name from the Gospel story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:1–42). In this encounter, Jesus meets her in the ordinary rhythms of life and offers her the gift of “living water”—new life, renewal, and hope.

In that same spirit, The Well seeks to be a place where women can come as they are: to pause in the midst of busy lives, to share faith and friendship, and to encounter Christ in one another and in community. It is a space of welcome, encouragement, and quiet renewal.

The image of the well reminds us that we are always invited back to the source of living water. Through prayer, conversation, reflection, and shared life, we hope to encourage one another in faith and, in turn, become a source of hope and encouragement for others.
