Focolare Share — Living the Word

Focolare — from the Italian word for “hearth” or “family fireside” — is a worldwide movement that began in Trento, Italy, in 1943 during World War II. Founded by Chiara Lubich, it is rooted in a deep commitment to God and inspired by Jesus’ prayer: “May they all be one” (John 17:21).

Focolare promotes unity, mutual respect, and living the Gospel in everyday life. Though it began within the Catholic Church, its spirituality is shared across Christian denominations and people of many beliefs.
